Nisa Semione, CDBC FFCP is a certified trainer and dog behavior consultant and founder of Naturally Canine. Animals have been a part of Nisa’s life for as long as she can remember. In 2014 she began fostering for her local shelter and rescues. In 2015 she began work as a shelter kennel technician and became enthralled with canine behavior and development. While in school at the University of Texas at Austin, Nisa studied animal behavior topics before graduating with a BA in Anthropology.


In 2018 Nisa began her career as a professional dog trainer in her home state of New York. In 2021 she founded Naturally Canine - Behavior & Training upon her relocation to Texas. She is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CBDC) through the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. She is also a Fear Free Certified Professional (FFCP) through the Fear Free Pets Animal Trainer Certification Program. 

In 2020 Nisa was accepted into Virginia Tech’s Applied Animal Behavior and Welfare master's program. Her graduate research examines the effects of enrichment on stress in shelter dogs, as she has a vested interest in serving the shelter dog population that started her career in animal behavior. She’s a believer in lifelong learning and has committed to continuing her education through the latest accredited articles, books, conferences, and more. Nisa shares her life with her two dogs, Hari and Habit. In her free time she can often be found with her dogs training tricks, dog sports, or enjoying nature.
